trend alert: textured wall decor

Want to add warmth and style to your walls without breaking the bank? We thought so! There’s a new textured wall hanging trend that’s turning heads and we’ll show you all the different ways to get the look, no matter what your budget.

OPTION 1: BASKETS

This look has been around for a while, but seems to be making a strong comeback. I remember clients asking for this when I worked down by the beach and it definitely lends itself to a more relaxed feel. What’s been neat about seeing it come back is that it’s not just for coastal homes anymore. Use baskets with patterns to create a statement wall, or pair simple and clean baskets with other neutrals to get a comfortable feel no matter where you live. We’re loving them in modern spaces to add warmth, or in farmhouse style abodes to really bring in that added bit of charm.

OPTION 2: WOVEN HANGINGS

Make a statement with something like these DIY god’s eye pendants or something with tassels or fringe (sources below). This look is so popular that shops like Urban Outfitters now carry them, but you can find plenty of handmade items on Etsy too!

OPTION 3: RATTAN MIRRORS

What’s the newest version of your favorite starburst mirror trend? We’re glad you asked! These accent mirrors are making some serious statement walls my friends. In a relaxed rattan finish, they’re more casual than glamorous, but still just as pleasing to the eye.

I can’t get enough of the tassels this season, so I’m partial to the woven hangings for my own home, but the brass ones with fringe would look so delicate in a feminine apartment or even a girl’s nursery!

Which option would you choose?
